::A Wedding Story::

8 months to go....and I already need to be re-energized! Granted the bones of our wedding plans are complete...but I'm a detail person...meaning it's the design that keeps me up at night. The closer it gets, the simpler I see our wedding. I had planned to keep it simple chic....very modern...yet sweet, and the color that comes to mind is....white. So pure and beautiful...and if done correctly...BOLD. A planner once told me before you begin to plan your wedding, write a story about it. Let the story describe the feel of your day, and then create your event around the tale. Soooo...here's my story...
(Ault Park Rose Garden-ugly chairs..lol)

The sun awakened and spilled upon all the flowers in the garden, while a sea of white took center stage to begin a day of romance. As the guests filed in, they were chilled by the Ice garden chairs placed to all equally be the best seat in the house. Awaiting the bride they were romanced into a trance by the sweet strings of the quartet sending notes into the wind.

Once the vows were read, and the two were wed, it was time to fly off to NYC for a penthouse gathering to celebrate the love they shared.
(Contemporary Arts Center-Reception Location)

The glass door opens, and your senses begin to play. The cold grey concrete is met with another sea of white to give the best balance between sleek and chic. As they passed through the room to their seats, they were greeted by pops of deep purple lilies accented with simple white tulips.
After wining and dining, the party danced into the night with the lights of the city guiding there way through the dance floor.

Ok..wish me luck...and stay tuned...

If I could just speak freely amongst family?!?!

Here I am, in a place where it seems that everything should be on the up and up.and then you begin to think.whats next. I respect this feeling because it is just that that makes you who you are. Its the whats next that brings success and keeps the joneses keeping up with you.

I just want to be content. Just once. Just be able to sit back and look at me and what I've become and be content. I see so many other people be able to sit calmly in whatever position they're in but for me its a constant battle to do more. To some it sounds silly...and to others it sounds familiar.

content 1 |kənˈtent|
adjective
in a state of peaceful happiness : he seemed more content, less bitter.
satisfied with a certain level of achievement, good fortune, etc., and not wishing for more
This is what gets me...a certain level of achievement. So what level do you settle and relax. I believe that it is the inability to become content in people that makes them successful.

::LDL Fave:: Hangtime Trailer::

I am highly anticipating the release of the movie Hangtime, a german production, that my fiance' had the pleasure of being apart of. Luckily I also had the opportunity to see some of the movie being filmed while visiting Tayron in Essen, Germany. Tayron's character in the film is named "Spider", and just in case it's edited out, I witnessed him give the star in the movie the business on the court!! LOL...And to his defense...the star is not really a basketball player, he is an actor! Besides all that...below is the movie trailer. Look out for the release date to be posted later. I am so proud of him...so Enjoy..and Congrats Tay!!!!!!

With that said...I am doing my part to educate my readers! Below you will find the link to the Health Care Reform Bill in PDF form. The second link is to the Health Care reform website to help explain the bill in more clear terms. Whether for or against...never form an opinion without being well informed. The bill is 1018pgs so I will try to find some guides or key points to post at a later time.

Please don't hide behind the fact that "you're young" or "this doesn't affect you", because everything your government does affects you...both now and later...don't give up your voice by choosing to be ignorant...

::LDL Annoyance::Plaxico Edition::

Plaxico sentenced to TWO YEARS IN PRISON! Does this annoy anyone else?? Someone please agree with me...let's explore...

"Burress, a nine-year veteran with the Giants and Pittsburg Steelers, became a Super Bowl hero when he caught the winning touchdown pass in the last minute of the Giants' 17-14 upset win over the previously unbeaten New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
Burress and former teammate Antonio Pierce were at the Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan in late November 2008 when a gun tucked into Burress' waistband slipped down his leg and fired, shooting him in the right thigh.
The bullet narrowly missed a nightclub security guard who was standing inches away, prosecutors said. It lodged in the floor and was recovered by a bartender.
The gun was not licensed in New York or in New Jersey, where Burress lived. His license to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Florida had expired in May 2008.
Prosecutors said Pierce drove Burress to a hospital, then took the gun to his own home in New Jersey. It was later delivered to Burress' home. Pierce, who also testified before the grand jury, was not charged." (c) Espn reporter Sal Paolantonio & AP

So...he shot himself...HIMSELF...

One more time...so did he shoot HIMSELF??

Ok...now...I'm all for the Law and all...and I understand the concealed weapon charge...but come on..when's the last time someone spent 2yrs in jail on a concealed weapon charge...I mean maybe 30days...but wait...now let's see what get's you 30 days in jail....

(and yes...I put his MUGSHOT because that's the way he deserves to be shown)

"Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth has begun serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday June 19th, for DRUNKEN accident that KILLED 59-year-old Mario Reyes. The 28-year-old NFL player could have faced as much as 15 years behind bars but received a relatively light sentence because he cooperated with authorities and Reyes's family decided not to pursue the matter thoroughly so they could get on with their lives. Stallworth reached a confidential financial settlement with Reyes's family." (c) sports.yahoo.com

If this isn't the biggest bunch of B.S. I don't know what is...First strike...you were drinking and driving...I don't care where you're from...how old you are...NOT COOL...Second strike...you killed a man...again....NEVER COOL....

So what does one gather from this story....FOOLISHNESS...maybe if Plaxico had reached a financial agreement with HIMSELF...then maybe he wouldn't have pressed charges against HIMSELF....

I dont know people...things like this really get under my skin...I'm not saying Plaxico did absolutely nothing wrong here but where is the true justice in giving this man 2yrs for something that the average joe can plea to a lesser charge for with a darn public defender...I'm boggled...and then his fellow NFL'r can leave the club SPLIT at 6am...hit a pedestrian..kill him..and go on vacation in jail for 30days...and then go shoot the breeze....Lord help us....

I hate to sound so judgemental against the judicial system and even Mr. Stallworth...but this just doesnt add up to me...if I left the club drunk and killed a man with my car...I'm darn sure that I wouldn't see the light of day..moreso because I can't hand his family probadly millions...and because to be honest....I would deserve every single day handed to me by a judge..(and you can bring this post to court God forbid this ever happens!)

All in all...I'm livid...

Plaxico....do ya bid...and come back a better man...and hopefully an even better athlete...you can still use this situation to show others that one small mistake isn't worth your career...and hopefully other athletes will learn from you and maybe that's the good in this...I hate that YOU have to be the example...but I guess it is what it is....

On another note: Random Stat: Vick's first game back on 8/29 he completed 4 passes for 19yards.... (subliminal)

::LDL First Look::FB Lounge::

LDL loves when there is a new and happening place a-brewin' in the Cincy area...and it looks like the new FB Lounge just may be the place to be. Metromix spotlighted the ultra-hip lounge last week on their site. It seems they're targeting the young professional crowd of 25 and up, but also featuring a lower level dance floor for the younger crowd on Fridays & Saturdays... I'm sure I'll be visiting soon, so I'll post an update on how I REALLY feel afterwards... until then..click the title of the post to check the pics on the Metromix site.

::Bedside Thought::

When we are dreaming alone it is only a dream. When we are dreaming with others, it is the beginning of reality...

After reflecting on the days activities I realized how far we've truly come....this time last year we were anxiously awaiting the next coming months to determine whether or not MLK's dream would finally be realized....so the quote above came to mind because it is so very true...one mans dream is just a dream...but when we all dream together it's real... It took every single one of us to BELIEVE in the dream...and thank heavens we did!!

And on that note...

Enjoy the realization...and let Barack Obama live! It pains me to see such harsh criticism at such an early stage in his Presidency...it took a failed war + 9/11 before mainstream media even dared to slander Bush...and Barack kicks out a Healthcare proposal and the right wingers are ready to hang him....

But yet this is steal the dream...let them speak out against him, let them challenge him further...for it is they that have something to prove...because as they criticize and speak against him...they still have to say PRESIDENT Barack Obama...

And I'm sure they die a thousand deaths each time...

Nite folks!
